Under the Sea Party

The idea was to have an Under the Sea Party with out all of the commerical Little Mermaid type decor. This was for a little girl turning 6. The decor colors were Turquoise, Orange and White. Tissue Paper Poms in corrdinating colors were hung above the main table while fish nets and a happy birthday banner hung behind the table as the backdrop. The table was dressed with fish shaped place mats, white plates, orange napkins and turquoise flatware. The cups were cover in polks dot scrapbook paper that I found that looked like bubbles. The cups were toped with a turquoise and white stripped straw. The centerpeices for the table were tall cylinder vases filled with blue water with goggles wrapped around the vases to simulate the sea.

The place cards were small white acrylic dip cups filled with blue sand with a clementine placed atop the sand. I inserted a blue drink umbrella in the clemintines that has the girls name on them.
The 2nd main table was a sweets tables. I decorated the table with corrdinating colors. I served rice krispy treats, choclate covered marsmallows, cake, swedish fish,"sea salt" nerds, "squid" gummy peach rings, gummy sharks, and pirates gold coins. I also made popcorn cones for the sweets table.
The activities included sand art, treasure hunt and beaded mermaid necklaces.
The food was kept simple since I had made the sweets table. I served a large bowl of mixed fruit and cheese and crackers.
The girls took home favors in chinese take out boxes filled with sweets from the sweets table!
