Pirate Party Invitations

For any of the homemade pirate party invitation options, deliver them in plastic or glass bottles and pretend that it is a long lost secret message. To add an additional pirate touch for your invitations be sure to include a few chocolate gold coins.

  • Treasure map soaked in tea bags to make it looked aged
  • Weathered paper with burnt edges
  • Make a scroll with paper or material attached to two dowels
  • Make your invitation into a treasure map by putting a big X on the party location

On your invitation says something cute like “be there or ye walk the plank” or “ahoy matey, you will be sure to have ye a great time”.

Then, each team has an area and they try to protect their treasure while stealing the other team's treasure. The winner is the team that accumulates the most treasure by the end (for more instructions check out balloon challenge).

  • Cannon ball toss - have black water balloons and have a water balloon fight
  • Hook toss - have a wooden board and fasten pirate hooks faced up onto it, then throw hoops into the pirate hooks
  • Walk the plank - use a 2 by 4 piece of treated and sanded wood (or bigger for younger kids), so there are no rough edges or splinters
  • Dig for gold - have a child size sand pit and have toys hidden that the guests can dig up
