Birthday Party Invitations:

Start with some Kid Party Invitations!
Make a list of your child's friends attending. Remember, less is more! Pick their best or favorite friends. A good rule of thumb is the number of kids for the age of your child. For example, if your child is turning 4, then invite 4 of their friends. Some exceptions do apply, but it's good idea. Don't try to be a hero by inviting the whole class, or every cousin. This is not a gift grab but a special party for your boy our girl.
Send invitations out at least 5 to 6 weeks prior. This gives other parents time to plan their schedule, and to buy a gift. Be creative and add personality. Send it through the mail even if it's your neighbour. Kids love receiving mail.

When for a Kids Party:

Weeknight or Weekend?
Both have advantages. Weeknight parties are usually through supper, but that's not always a bad idea. Serving a meal is great way to entertain the kids and kill some time. Make the food the activity. How about make your own pizza. Tacos are another good one. This eliminates the one child who doesn't like cheese on their pizza.

Having a weekend party is a great way to avoid a meal. Day time activities are just as fun. Maybe throw in a theme related snack or drink to keep the energy up!

What's a Good Time
For a Kids Birthday Party?

2-4 hours is enough time to get everything done. For the first hour or so, have them play a party game. This will get some energy out. After the game is a good time for a drink and snack. If you're doing a craft, the kids who finish their snack early can work "quietly" on their project. When everyone's had something to eat, clear the setting and sing happy birthday. Giving kids something to eat before the cake is always a good way to avoid them wanting more or being still hungry. The last half hour spend opening presents. Have a list of kids attending handy for writing the gift received. This makes it easier for thank yous. Also, have a few more kids party ideas handy. If time prevails play another game, or open the new presents.

Why have Perfect Kids Party Ideas?

Why go to the effort of great kids party ideas? Kids learn by example. Being a good little host themselves teaches good manners and responsibility. Have your child pick out and hand out the party favors. This gives them a chance to personally thank their friend for coming and for the gift.

Kids Party Ideas For Entertaining

Keeping children entertained during your party can be challenging at best. However, having a few games, activities and kids party ideas or plans will keep everyone happy.

You can also hire a children's entertainer. This can be lots of fun. Face painters, balloon artists, a special appearance by your favourite character, superhero or a clown can get the kids really excited! Hiring a magician to come and perform magic tricks and games in front of the children is a blast.
