Horse Party Invitations

When making invitations for your event, the most important thing is to make sure it has a horse. You can do this by cutting out a simple outline of a horse on colored paper and paste it onto white cardstock. Around the outside add farm and cowboy or cowgirl stickers, such as boots, a lasso, hay bays, and a fence. Make sure to include a fun saying like “oh hayy… come to my horse party” or “this party is going to be ‘horse’RADish”.

Horse Party Decorations

  • Use the color theme of blue, green, brown and black
  • Have horse Mylar balloons
  • Have a brown table cloth with a rustic table runner and horse figures with flowers for centerpieces
  • If possible go to a farm and use that as the foundation for your party by setting up a table outside
  • Have horse themed cups and plates
  • Pitchforks and shovels - have a sign for your forks and spoons pretending they are farm tools
  • Have a large horse cutout painted in fun rainbow colors or black and have balloons tied to the horse
  • Have cowboy hats for party hats
  • Have toy cowboy boots to hold napkins, straws, or flowers
  • Have a sign that says “welcome to the ranch”
  • Create an aesthetic “watering hole” refreshment station
  • Have wooden wagon wheels
  • Photoshoot station - have hay bails, cactus cutouts, a blue cloud backdrop, cowboy/cowgirl hats and a picture frame that says “wanted” on the top and “reward” on the bottom.

Horse Party Games and Activities

  • Horseback riding - Go to a farm with horses or a horse riding facility and ride horses. Be careful and wear a cowboy/cowgirl hat and boots to show you are a pro.
  • Ride the horse race - Pair up for a race with a partner. Have the smaller person ride the partner (the horse)by sitting on their back and race through an obstacle course and then back to the beginning.
  • Balloon shoot - Have a table set up with some empty cans or bottles stacked in a pyramid. Everyone gets 3 water balloons to throw at the pyramid to try to knock them over.
  • Rope ‘em - Get into two groups (depending on the number of people). Stand facing into a circle. The first person holds a rope and passes it around their backs (alternating between people with the rope front and back of the people) until the rope is all used up. Then the first team out of the ropes is the winner.
  • Branding - Have a temporary tattoo station with horse and farm inspired tattoos for the guests to choose from.
  • Horseshoes - In this game, you throw the horseshoe and try to get it to land on the maker.
  • Campfire - Sing songs, play guitars, roast marshmallows, and tell stories.
  • Pin the tail on the horse - Just like pin the tail on the donkey, but have a large horse cardboard cutout or paint a horse onto a board. Then, for the tail use a tassel garland and blindfold the player with a bandana.
  • Paint a horseshoe - Spread good luck by setting up an art station with paint, glitter glue, and stickers to decorate wooden horseshoe cutouts.
  • Bobbing for apples - place apples in a bucket of water and try to grab them with your mouth
  • Grooming salon - have horse shoes on a sign and paint your nails
  • Watch a guest of honor and friends favorite horse movie
